Bekko is a class of koi characterized by a solid base color of white, red, or yellow, with black markings called “Sumi”. These black patterns are the defining feature of Bekko koi. The quality and placement of the Sumi are key factors in evaluating these fish. Bekko koi are often appreciated for their simplicity and balance in pattern.
