Hookazuki, also known as Hoozuki, is a lesser-known variety of Nishikigoi. This koi is distinctive for its striking red, orange, or yellow ‘lantern-like’ patterns, resembling the fruit of the Hoozuki plant (Japanese lantern plant). The rest of the body is typically silvery or white, creating a stark contrast with the vibrant colored patterns.
